Court Order Requiring UNUM to Disclose its Illegal Scheme to Deny Claims

Kellner v. First UNUM, 03-Civ-5497 (Southern District, New York)

In a resounding victory our client has obtained an order from a federal court in New York requiring First UNUM to disclose its illegal scheme to deny claims based upon financial budgets and targets. Witnesses to the illegal scheme have detailed these unlawful practices on the CBS News program “60 Minutes” and on NBC’s “Dateline” show. However, the secret databases, emails and other documents that reveal the full extent of the scheme have been a closely guarded secret by First UNUM and its parent company, UnumProvident. Until now, only a few documents have surfaced confirming the existence of UnumProvident’s unlawful program. The Order obtained by Schwartz, Conroy & Hack formerly know as QS in Kellner v. First UNUM, 03-Civ-5497 (Southern District, New York) however, will now permit QS to get to the bottom of these illegal company practices.
